How to Cope with the Stress of Applying to Med School

1. Take a 24-hour break from checking the Student Doctor Network forums,, and admissions offices’ twitter accounts.

2. While we’re at it, no checking application statuses for 48-hours. (GASP!) If expecting mail, you get to check once, and ONLY once, per day.

3. Replace newfound free time (estimated 2+ hours/day) with one or all of the following activities: pray, call a friend and don’t mention medical school, watch your favorite movie, bake cookies, re-learn the language you studied in high school, rediscover a passion you had before being reincarnated into a med-school-applicant-stress-monster, etc …

4. Repeat as necessary until the big day arrives!
